The buildings in EU are annually responsible for 842 million of tonnes of CO₂ emissions, which is twice the amount than it is EU's objective according to the Kyoto Protocol. Simple measures, such as thermal insulation of buildings, can annually reduce buildings' CO₂  emissions for about 460 million of tonnes. This is a great step towards approachning a long-term objective of reducing dangerous gas emissions for 50% by the year 2050.
